Review coming...

A new recipe: oatmeal flax walnut
(from Katheats.com)

Lynette's review: I loved it. I thought it was really hearty and a great density/moistness.
Matt's review, "I like your other bread better."

Sweet :)
Thanks hubby.

Back home again...in Indiana

Sorry the photo is a little dark...but what could be more fitting than crossing the state line whilst John Cougar Mellencamp's 1980s hit "Little Pink Houses" is playing Sirius/XM's 80s on 8.

The 8th Annual 'Taste of Sam's Club'

So driving to Ohio is never complete without a stop in Indianapolis for the Taste of Sam's Club - one of Luke's favorite places! (or at least Matt's)

I LOVE road trips!!!

Road trip!

Equals: snacks!!

Homemade herb cheddar crackers. (see MATT CRACK(ERS)

So good!

What do you snack on during a road trip?

That was Matts response when he saw these

I blended a handful of spinach into the water before I poured it into the oats.

Then garnished with cinnamon, chopped pecans, flax seed meal, maple syrup, and maple-cinnamon walnut butter.

(Don't judge, just trying to get my greens and Omega3s. And I hear oats are really good for breastfeeding moms. Okay - I'll eat them as much as possible!)

Arkansas - The Natural State

Two weekends ago, we went to Lake Leatherwood - outside of Eureka Springs, AR - for a picnic and a hike. Luke loved it, and Matt got to take some great photos, like the one above. Who knew one lonely tree on the shore of the lake could look so cool!

The growing chair

Oh hey guys.
Mommy plopped me down in the chair again.I guess it's been another four weeks.
So, what, that makes me 8 weeks old now?

Just to prove I'm getting bigger...remember me from 4 weeks ago?

Nothing runs like a deere...

That's right folks...

This isn't a fashion statement. (mommy's not much for fashion anyway)

I'm a proud supporter of Grandpa Bowsher...

And his implement of choice:

Maybe someday I'll even have a John Deere lunch box.

Someone said "Ice Cream!"

The sign said GIANT CONES. I'd agree. This was the small.

Cooking club?

Does anyone out there (of our four readers-thanks moms and sisters...) have any ideas to start one? Theme or no theme? How frequent to meet? Coed? How large of a group?

Election Day

Wonder if Luke would have voted for Blanche Lincoln or John Boozman?

Dessert Contest

Apparently people in Arkansas are pretty competitive...chili contest, dessert contest...

Our community group has a "Rocktober" party for Halloween, including a dessert contest.
After swallowing our pride at the chili cook-off, and expending a decent amount of resources on 5 quarts of chili - I wasn't quite as pumped for another beating. I also had NO idea what dessert to make. Homemade ice cream? Maple twist rolls? Red velvet cake? I'm not actually that into making desserts, so I was at a loss. Georgia Sweets. I had them once at a different work function for Matt, and I thought they were melt-in-your-mouth, pure deliciousness. And they are INCREDIBLY easy. Graham crackers. Brown sugar. Butter. Pecans. Chocolate chips (optional). http://www.eatboutique.com/2009/12/07/graham-cracker-toffee-2/

Apparently, only Matt and I think they are totally addictive.
We didn't win.
Oh well.
